Ivy leaf tutorial

I have crocheted an ivy leaf as part of the freeform CAL, and some participants asked me for the pattern. Here it is:

Abbreviations:
st - stitch
ch - chain
ss - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
yo - yarn over

Ch 7, turn, ss back to the first ch, (6 ss),

Ch 7, turn, ss back to the first ch, (6 ss), ss in the centre ch at the red dart (7 ss)
Ch 8, turn, ss back to the first ch, (7 ss), ss in the centre ch (8 ss)
Ch 7, turn, ss back to the first ch, (7 ss)
Ch 7, turn, ss back to the first ch, (6 ss), ss in the centre ch (7 ss)
Now you have 5 branches.

Insert the hook in the first ss as shown, crochet i the following 5 ss 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, crochet in the net ss 1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc (top)

1 hdc in the next base st as the other side, 2 dc in the next ss

1 unfinished dc in the next 2 ss, 1 unfinished dc in the centre ch, 2 unfinished dc in the next 2 ss of the following branch,

Yo, pull through. Don't finish this st, just begin the next dc in the next ss, this prevents the gap.
2 dc, 1 hdc in the following 3 ss, in the next ss 1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc (top), crochet in the following ss 1 hdc, 2 dc, 5 unfinished dc as before.

3 dc in the next 3 ss. The red dart shows, there's no gap between the st. This is the top branch, it has 1 more dc.

Continue the same way along the branches, until the last branch, crochet the top, then finish by crocheting in the following ss 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 ss in the centre ch.

Optional: if you want a stem, crochet 5 ch, ss back to the centre ch. Fasten off.

  1. Zet je hem ook nog op Ravelry voor die meer dan 3.000.000 mensen daar? :-))

Ziet er goed uit, als ik mijn eerste madness sok afheb, ga ik het eens uitproberen.
Dank je wel voor het patroon!
